President Obama's Support for Gay Marriage

I have a wait-and-see attitude about President Obama's chances for re-election as to how this announcement will affect his chances.

    Thoughts?

When Barack Obama announced his support for gay marriage on May 9, most commentators immediately turned to how this would affect his chances in the 2012 campaign. Now that a few days have elapsed, we can say with confidence that the effect was negligible.
The following chart illustrates the most accurate and real-time forecasts, derived from prediction market data, two days before and after the announcement.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Politics is not about the issues anymore, but about getting public support for screwing people over. Sorry if it sounds jaded.

He is sucking in the polls and he is doing everything to try and get votes. The problem is the states decide whether that is legal or not, not the federal government. If he forces more federal rules over state rules he will cause more people to not vote for him. I hope to god he doesn't get a second term. We can't afford him.

The alternatives are even worse. Mitt Romney's idea of being poor is being forced to sell off a few stocks to pay for college. I'd tremble to think how he would address the massive unemployment that is plaguing the US at this moment.

We don't have any good choices. We are screwed no matter how you look at it. Time to move.

Re: President Obama's Support for Gay Marriage

If you ask me we never have any good choices, and our government really needs to change. We go in circles all the time. As long as we always have the democrats and republican fighting die hard against each other this will not change! I also think united we stand, divided we fall! I did go cast my vote for Obama though, not that i really much like him, but i really don't like Romney, to even look at him made me shutter. I really don't know what anybody really expected Obama to do in 4 years..... we have a hell of a mess to clean up over here, i'm not sure if we could clean it up in 20 years let alone 4.

My state passed gay marriage, yes i did vote for that also. Bc i don't really care who you marry. Whatever floats your boat. Everybody here has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. What is really said before was one of the couple getting ill, if they were on their death bed their companion could'nt be there bc the were not family. Imagine dying alone without the one you love by your side. All bc someone else does'nt like it? That's cold.

My state also passed for gambling. We got plenty of casino's in all states surrounding us. Many Marylanders travel out of state all the time to gamble. I can get to delaware in 20 mins to go gamble, so why not keep the people and money here? Yes gambling brings crime, but we already have one of the deadliest cities in America, i don't see how Baltimore can get any worse then it is!

That's my 2 cents for the day!

What choice do you have, when the two big parties, keep on pushing strawmen? It is more obvious with the GOP, that is all.
