    Second Life

Second Life is an online virtual realty game. Has anybody heard of it or played it? I have, it's really kinda of crazy too. I had a job in the game and i got worn out so i have been on break from it for quite some time, but that is normally how it goes for me there. I get tired of keeping up with two lives, lol. Anything you can think of to do, you can do there. The world is your imagination. The game originally started for schooling purposes but quickly developed into something more then that, i can understand why. It is still used for schools, but goes far beyond that. Now you can go skydiving, whale riding, to disneyworld, to the movie theater (oh hey Vautrin we could watch a movie there!) Seriously anything you can think to go do, you can. They even have strips clubs & escort places, yes crazy i know. If you think of something and you can't find it, well then you can create it. You can build there, some people play just to build and sometime's sell off their estates once completed. Some people go just to shop and decorate their house like the sim's. Some people go for the social aspect, to make new friends from all around the world. Some people go for love, and yes it is so crazy possible, i have met many people who found their soulmate there. Some people are designer's and go to create, clothes, furniture, creatures, skins, or whatever. See you can work in the game and you can actually make real life money doing so. You can cash in your lindens which is the money there for real life money through your paypal. You can play for free, but it does cost to own a property or have a house. I always rented my own place, space. My job lol....... was...... i was a cat breeder and auctioneer, lol yup. They have pet's there and you can breed them, they also have markets where they are sold. At my auctions i would turn on voice, and speak into my mic, and tell everybody about each item, cat. So the people would see my character, my avatar, but yet they would here my real voice. It was my job to entertain them keep them there buying, so i would get paid for every spot rented to sell a cat then the sellers would tip me depending how well it sold. It was rather interesting. So anyway i'm babbling but i just wanted to share this with you, in case anybody feel's the need to escape from your first life, lol.

    Re: Second Life

I have heard of it, but never played it. It might indeed solve my movie watching problem .

The problem for me is I already spend way too much time online. I have met quite a few people who I met online myself, including my ex (for who I moved halfway across the globe).

    Re: Second Life

Um yeah did i mention it will suck you in???? lol. For those that think they already spend to much time online, you might not want to bother playing! They don't call it second life for no reason! But the way i saw it was, im online anyway, why not make money being online and having fun? Plus i thoroughly enjoy making new friends and meeting new people from the comfort of my own home. I enjoy having friends from all over the world. Another good thing about that is your never alone if you don't want to be!

Wow Vautrin, you moved halfway across the globe???? That was very courageous of you!!!! Also a sweet gesture for the lady on the other end, if moving halfway across the globe does'nt show you someone cares then i don't know what does! Is there a thread around here somewhere about your ex? You mention her here and there, but you have me curious on the whole story!

    Re: Second Life

I think that if you do a search on "South Africa" you should find most relevant threads. I have not started that many on the forums.

    Short summary.
Met her online in March 2005, met her for real in May 2005, started a relationship soon after, and we lasted until December 2010; for the first 2-3 years it was long distance, but after that I was living in South Africa, practically full-time. Moved back to the Netherlands after we had broken up, and been here ever since. Not that I am too thrilled being here.
