I watched the "Carpenters" special on PBS a few weeks ago and was sad and glued to the television at the same time. I've always been a fan of the "Carpenters", especially Karen's voice, how beautiful and effortless she sang every song. How sad that she died at such a young age.

On a happier note, I've always loved this song:

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Have been listening to a lot of music lately but realised how influenced I am by the music on the tv ads. What would be your favourite oldie at the moment? I love this one :

2016 has been a bad year for musicians as well. Darn, I am getting old.

So many iconic names have taken their leave and it's so sad. Their legacy they have left us is the wealth of work they have left behind for us to enjoy, bring back memories and to enlighten the younger generation on what real talent was.

I've decided to add to this thread with a theme for the next few months........ let's see what we can find.

Are you ready.................. I'm going to say it.......... be warned.............. I know it's early but as the shops are already getting prepared we must gather out strength and face it.

IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS so let's add our favourites, the most cheesiest, the most cute, the most memorable or just downright bizzare Christmas music & songs.

    Here goes.

I'm going to start with this one which reminds me of being 6 and in the same position Lol - ENJOY

I am personally not a big fan of Christmas songs. Probably because you get inundated with them in public spaces. And most of those songs are dreadful (often remakes of good ones)

I generally have my favourite Carols playing (being a traditional Christmas lover) and some Christmas Songs by my favourite artists........ but this is a bit of fun as these songs are so cheesy that you need a big bottle of wine with them
