That's the best thing about google, type in any random word and it'll bring up about 10,000,000 sites in under a second.

    Gotta Love Google.

Just for your info sn00py, parents hate chores as much (if not more) than kids do.

Chores is the reason I am going to have kids, so I don't have to do them.

Really, you'll find out that it's more of a chore getting the kids to do them than actually getting off the computer and doing them yourself - less time consuming too. Unfortunately it has to be done or you raise irresponsible kids.

Actually so far my daughters ok I about doing chores but there is no time structure involved, at least at my house. I figure the mess will always be there but she will only be a kid once.

It's hard when you are on a "timeshare" plan. On one hand you want to instill good values etc. On the other you don't want to be thought of as the guy that made them do stuff.

I try to do both but emphasis is definately on the father-daughter bonding experience.

I agree with Evil in that it takes more time and energy to get kids to do stuff around the house than it does to do it yourself. Not to even mention the 'quality' of the work.....

Oh, don't get me started there, Merika. When I do get them to do something they invariably come back 5 minutes later. "Daddy, we're done" I go and look and maybe five items of 500 have been put away. Or if everything seems to be picked up, I have to check under the bed or pry one of them away from the closet door thereby insuring risk of death since the only thing keeping the avalanche inside the closet was them holding it shut.

Ahhh man....when my daughter was around 9....I looked under her bed and it ressembled a smorgasboard. There were plates, glassses, pudding cup containers, chip bags all smooshed up under there. I had a COW! I put her bed on the floor so she had no 'under the bed' area. She is now 15 and her new bed is also on the floor! She's too used to it now.

I really think girls have the capacity of being messier than boys. They just have so much STUFF......and all those little knick knackey things they collect.

Good idea Merika, but I still think I need for you to come over to my place and show me.

I could also use help with:
    - where to put dirty clothes
    - washing dishes
    - putting dishes away
    - folding clothes or hanging them
    - dusting

I'm a slow learner but should pick it up within the first year sometime after watching you do it repeatedly.
