    Re: Touching, etc.

I think it's great when a man admits that he cries. I honestly think that makes a man more of a man.

I think it's really awful when parents say to a child "don't cry, or I'll give you something to cry about!" A child laughs and that's okay, so why isn't crying okay, too?
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

True love is wanting to give to another person without any thought about
who’s getting the better of the deal.

Love always creates, it never destroys. In this lie's man's only promise

I can cry easily, because of my thoughts - the melancholy aspect of my temperament. Funerals, especially, can really cleanse me, even if they are of people I have hardly known.

But few people have made me cry. I don't think that that is because the way I was raised, but the way I am. I don't let myself get close to people easily and as a consequence, but few people are in a position to ever hurt me.

The only philosophy which can be responsibly practised in face of despair is the attempt to contemplate all things as they would present themselves from the standpoint of redemption. - Theodor Adorno
