Last baseball game I watched on TV was a World Series Game where Melissa Etheridge performed the national anthem... that was a couple years ago now I believe, if not 3 or 4.

I try to watch the World Series as much as possible, and usually (most of the time) make bets with my male co-workers, one or two or three. Two dollar bets and maybe five dollars on the outcome, but the harassment is the BEST!

Maybe you and I can post about the games! Vautrin and I have a blast watching and posting DURING the Super Bowl. Vautrin, do you watch the World Series, then we can all post! Anyone else interested?

    Re: Baseball

I am really not into baseball.

If Baseball has television potential, anything has television potential. The game is too long, barely anything happens at all. Most of the time it will be jabbering about some stats. Mind you, they need 162 games or so, just to make up their mind about which teams play a further 4-21 games.

I think even sports like chess and curling have more television potential.

It only counts if you publish the pictures.

    Re: Baseball

I think the Red Sox absolutely had to find a way to get rid of Manny, and I think under the circumstances they did about as good as could be expected. Manny's contract was absurd even by MLB standards, and the fact that he's been laying down regularly with BS injuries AND acting like a royal jerk in the clubhouse (punching Youklis, knocking down a 60+ year old club employee) just pushes this all to the absurd.

However, I hope I'm not going to hurt anyone's feelings by point out that the NL is nowhere near as good as the AL top to bottom, so Bay is probably not going to produce like Manny did, especially vs. the Yankees. I think the Sox's season is probably done...I'm now a believer in the Tampa Bay Devil Rays/Devil Dogs/D-Rays/Rays whatever, so if the Sox go into the postseason it'll be as a wild card, meaning they probably face the Los Angeles Angels of Walt Disney Land and get swept. But I'm thinking this won't even happen. I don't like the middle of the line up, I think Varitek is through as a hitter and there're a couple of busts like CoCo Crisp dragging down their payroll into next year (I think.) Not sure who gets the wild card, might even be the Yankees. And re: Dice-K, no clue about the guy. He looks sharp, then falls apart. Can't figure him out.

I'm sort of a Toronto Blue Jays fan!

Our Production Manager and I have 3 bets for next week! LOVE that! A great guy who's a Cleveland fan! Small bets, it's mostly about the kibitzing back and forth that's the fun part!
