Texas school district to let teachers carry guns

Interesting, this. But if nobody's objecting...

Texas school district to let teachers carry guns

HOUSTON (Reuters) - A Texas school district will let teachers bring guns to class this fall, the district's superintendent said on Friday, in what experts said appeared to be a first in the United States.

The board of the small rural Harrold Independent School District unanimously approved the plan and parents have not objected, said the district's superintendent, David Thweatt.

heh......now some looser-crazy is gonna make a bee-line to this school so he can commit suicide-by-teacher and get his 15 Minutes of Fame

So what happens when a 10 year old sneaks in with a .45 looking water pistol and gets blown away by his math teacher?

The math teacher will be tried and put on death row. Rinse and repeat for the next 50 years.

As someone (Robert Heinlein?) once noted: An armed society is a polite society.

This school is in a rural area where gun ownership is quite common. If the parents don't object, and the teacher is properly licenses (i.e., knows how to handle a fire arm), then I don't see the big deal. The 2nd Amendment is not filler.

I fail to see how the teacher is part of the militia, but anyway ...

Doubtful. Death row is reserved for the most heinous violent crimes.

I fail to see where being in the militia is a requirement to bear arms.

LOL Is a squirt gun considered the equivalent of an unloaded AK47? I wonder how restrictive the rules for the teacher will be. No preemptive strike seems a bit risky.

Not so in TX. You can even get on death row in TX for a non-violent crime. Great. Also, if the State does not inform you of your rights, that does not stop the State of executing, even though proper legal procedures have not been followed. Juvenile offenders have been executed. Anything goes in TX.

Just make certain that the perpetrator is black, and the victim is white, and you have increased your chances for a ride to Death Row substantially. You would have to come up with something quite original to get a white man on death row for killing a black man or woman. This finding has been consistently found, both in research done by NGOs as by the General Accounting Office.

    Black teachers, beware!

Jeff Woods is white. Is it possible that a higher percentage of blacks commit violent crimes? In Texas, the math teacher could be found to have commited a justifiable homocide.
