Making Snow Angel Considered a Penalty

Wes Welker's Snow Angel Celebration Lands Him A Penalty (VIDEO)

"The most trouble the Patriots seemed to have with the snow came when Welker was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct for making a snow angel just beyond the end line after his touchdown"

    -------------------------

While watching the game, I was very disappointed that it was considered 'unsportsmanlike conduct'. Could someone tell me why it was even considered a penalty? He says he wouldn't have done it if he thought it was. Aren't the rules getting just a bit over-the-top?

You know I was watching that very game (what was the final score anyways?) and thought it was absolutely hilarious. If anything he was in the freakin christmas spirit. Me thinks the ref was just bitter that he was out in the snow/sleet/rain and was soaking wet.

the rest of the team, to support him, should of gone and done the same thing.

what good is having "rights" if we cant use them.

what a stupid thing to give someone a penalty for.

Here is one comment on a site I found that I thought was rather humorous and to-the-point:

The Lil' Angel at the top of my tree shall forever be called a Welker. 15 yards for that? With others jumping in the stands and getting nothing? Better get together and decide what is what. Christmas and ya get penalized for making an angel...ba humbug!!!
